The wind has been exploited for centuries by windmills, which are found all over the island.

July is the hottest month in Mykonos with an average temperature of 26°C (79°F) and the most daily sunshine hours at 14 in July. The best month to swim in the sea is in July when the average sea temperature is 24°C (75°F).
