Atlas Mountains

The snow capped peaks of the high Atlas Mountains are within an hours drive of Marrakech and they run from the Atlantic to the Sahara through the middle of Morocco. They offer stunning mountain scenery, a variety of activities, plus traditional Berber villages, where the locals live in sun-baked mud houses, usually located on top of steep mountain slopes. The mountains are home to a number of animals and plants which are unique within Africa, many of which are endangered.

The High Atlas, Middle Atlas and the Anti Atlas each have their own characteristics and are the perfect location for trekking and walking, taking in the breathtaking views.
