There's a certain magic about staying on a private island. Located on the west coast of Scotland, the Isle of Eriska sits at the mouth of Loch Creran in the heart of West Argyll. The island boasts gorgeous views overlooking Loch Linnhe and the dramatic Morvern mountains beyond.
A dramatic and befitting journey to the Island builds up the excitement of what lies in store over that wooden bridge you cross to leave behind the rugged mainland of Highland Scotland.
The 34 bedrooms offer a variety of accommodation. The 16 bedrooms in the main house are all individually designed with modern, bright furnishings and en suite bathrooms. There is also a variety of self-contained accommodation on the estate, including Spa Suites located in the gardens with private hot tubs, Garden Cottages with 2 bedrooms each that are ideal for families, and Hilltop Reserves located on the hilltop overlooking Loch Linnhe, again with private hot tubs and balconies.
As with any country house the bedrooms vary in shape, size and character, but all have the same facilities, amenities and luxury you would expect from a five-star hotel.
The fantastic Spa Centre, housed in the old stabling blocks, includes a private 17m indoor swimming pool with indoor hot tub, sauna, steam room, massage treatments rooms and a fully equipped gymnasium. The mezzanine restaurant in the Spa imparts stunning views over the coastal islands: from the sun-drenched terrace you can watch the weather as it swirls dramatically.
The hotel dining room is the amalgamation of four areas: the morning room watches over the lawns to the south, the business room catches the morning sun, the butler’s pantry joins these two latter rooms together, and finally the conservatory, added in 2002, peeks under the boughs of the oak trees planted the year the house was built.
Here you can enjoy a gourmet experience with an à la carte 3-course dinner, alongside quality British cheeses and an extensive wine collection to enjoy. The Isle of Eriska Hotel’s Chef describes his style as ‘classic roots with light and modern touches using the best of Scotland’s seasonal produce’.
The Isle of Eriska is located approximately 12 miles north of Oban and 40 miles south of Fort William. This 300-acre island offers a truly unique and unforgettable experience.

Wild, rugged and romantic are the three words that spring to mind when we cast our thoughts to holidays in Scotland. With many a myth and legend sung from these undulating lands, there is a uniquely strident beauty to this area that changes dramatically from season to season.
During the winter months, the snow-covered Cairngorms National Park beckons winter enthusiasts to take advantage of uncrowded ski areas. Short daylight hours are more than made up for by sublime winter sunsets, which cast their warm hues over the breath-taking horizons and announce that it’s time to retreat inside. With the promise of a fireside 'dram' awaiting you at the end of the day in your very own Gothic castle, it's all a bit like something out of a Sir Walter Scott novel...
Come the emergence of spring, Scotland’s lochs - such as Loch Ness, Loch Lomond and Loch Laggan - lose their 'winter skin' and wildflowers return to the foothills of the mountains in an explosion of colour. With seemingly endless days, summer is the perfect time to explore Scotland. Skirted with miles of pristine coastline and studded with country estates, it hosts a plethora of landmarks, including six UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Alongside its stunning natural scenery, Scotland’s cities are not to be missed. The capital, Edinburgh, with its bustling medieval Old Town, is one of Europe's most vibrant and cultural cities. With the iconic Edinburgh Castle overlooking her historic city, Edinburgh hosts The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and Edinburgh Festival Fringe in summer, along with the ever-popular Hogmanay (New Year’s Eve) and Burns Night in January. With some of the world’s leading chefs choosing Edinburgh as their home, there is a culinary Enlightenment taking place in Scotland, but we're thrilled to see the classics still remain... a holiday in Scotland would not be complete without a dish of haggis, neeps & tatties, all washed down with whisky!
