Saas-Fee is easily accessible from both Geneva (2hrs 40min by car or 3hrs 30min by train) and Zurich (3hrs 20min by train) airports via scenic journeys that run alongside Switzerland’s greatest lakes, vineyards and mountains ranges. The Saas Valley is surrounded by no less than eighteen 4,000 m high peaks! Its breathtaking landscape of beautiful mountains and glaciers are amazing to behold. Perfectly groomed ski slopes reach from 3,600 m right down to the car-free village, which is at an altitude of 1,800 m. Due to its elevation, year-round snow is assured. A great network of cableways takes skiers and snowboarders up into the mountains. On top of that, plenty of other winter sports opportunities are available such as sledging, ice climbing, snowshoe trails, winter hiking, Bavarian curling, cross-country skiing and much more.
The Mediterranean climate, with 300 days of sun, the wonderfully fresh and particulate-free air: the Saas Valley is unique. The four authentic mountain villages Saas-Fee, Saas-Grund, Saas-Almagell and Saas-Balen exude a magical Alpine charm, the wide range of restaurants from gourmet to fast food cater to all tastes, and party animals can make the most of the rich and varied night life.
You can even ski on the glaciers of Saas-Fee in the summer, which is why most of the world’s skiing teams train here. But there are also plenty of other ways to enjoy Saas-Fee during the summer months.
