After arrival at Bordeaux International Airport you will be met and transferred to Le Pavillon de Villemaurine in St Emilion. This will be your base for the next three nights.

St. Emilion is a charming and totally unspoilt medieval town surrounded by a roll-call of chateaux, names that we normally only see on wine lists. We will experience four enchanting days in this UNESCO world heritage site with its iconic chateaux and hallowed terroirs – with a chance to wander the cobbled streets and enjoy a town totally dedicated to its wine traditions. 

You will be visiting the area at one of the glorious time of the year, just prior to the red wine harvest. We will have privileged access to hand-picked selection of world-class estates where you will be received as VIP guests and shown their best wines to taste.

Tonight, you will enjoy dinner at L’Envers du Décor. Originally owned by the Des Ligneris family that owned Chateau Soutard, and now part of the Gerard Perse stable that owns Chateaux Pavie, Monbousquet and the 5-star Hostellerie de Plaisance. This is where winemakers gather to discuss the day’s events. 

During the evening David Banford will welcome the group and will talk about to the wines of the region and explain the reason behind their world-class reputation.

Today you will enjoy a tour of St Emilion's most famous Chateau. The tour will start with a visit to Chateau Cheval Blanc followed by a wine tasting accompanied by the Managing Director Pierre Lurton, to discover a wine made principally of Cabernet Franc. 

At lunch time, you will reach Chateau La Dominique (70 acres), where you will enjoy a tour of the estate followed by lunch with a carefully selected menu and matching wines. A short way north of St. Emilion, this Grand Cru Classé, whilst not as well-known as its illustrious neighbour, Chateau Cheval Blanc, has a spectacular restaurant - La Terrasse Rouge - a great al fresco location for a lunch with views over this wine country.

The tour will proceed with a visit to Chateau Figeac, Premier Grand Cru Classé "B", hosted by the celebrated Director and winemaker Frederic Faye. A St Emilion landmark and one of the most beautiful, it is the largest estate in St Emilion with 100 plus acres.

Our tour will end in Chateau Angelus, Premier Grand Cru Classé "A", where you will enjoy a private tasting and a visit to the Chai during the harvest activities.

Dinner will be at leisure to discuss about the gem discovered during our first day and to experience one of the local restaurants.

After a morning at leisure with time to explore St. Emilion you will meet for a sightseeing guided tour of the hallowed terroirs of St. Emilion and Pomerol. See all four of the St. Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classé A Chateaux as well as many of the other famous names: Petrus, L’Evangile, Vieux Chateau Certan, Laroque, Fonroque, Troplong Mondot, Tertre Roteboeuf and other gems.

You will then reach Chateau Siaurac for a tour of its wonderful gardens. Here you will be tasting Le Prieuré (Grand Cru Classé), Chateau Vrai Croix de Gay (Pomerol), as well as Chateau Siaurac, one of the great Lalande de Pomerol chateaux. After the tour, you will enjoy lunch at the nearby restaurant Clos Mirande.
