Marrakech - Activities
Magical Marrakech - one of the fascinating Imperial Cities of Morocco, Marrakech is a vibrant, colourful city where modern and traditional life are naturally united.

At its heart is the ancient Medina, with its myriad of bustling alleyways, souks and of course the famous Jemma el Fna Square, where you will find snake charmers, story tellers, and a maze of stalls serving delicious food and spices.

Rocksure and our local staff can help recommend and arrange any of the following:

Souks - Obviously the best place to go to have a true Moroccan shopping experience.  Haggle as much as you like to get the best price.  We can arrange a guide to help you explore the souks and take you to the most interesting shops, while explaining the history and layout of souks.  Whether you are looking to find clothes, jewellery, furniture, gifts, hidden treasures or traditional handicrafts, you won't be disappointed.

Hammam - after a long day of shopping and exploring the city why not relax and be pampered in a Hammam.  Tourist Hammams have professional experienced staff who will pamper and scrub away the days events, or visit a Popular Hammam and experience it how the locals do where you do the scrubbing yourself, make sure to take your own mitten.

Massage - If you would prefer to relax around by the pool, let our staff arrange a massage or other beauty treatment without having to set foot outside the villa.

Golf Courses - Let us book you a tee off time at one of the 4 championship courses, all within a 20 minute drive from the villa.  These include the Royal Golf Club, Amelkis Golf Course, Sammanah and La Palmeraie Golf course.  Golf has become a national passion after first being introduced into Morocco at the beginning of the 20th century, and now major competitions attract golfers from all over the world.

Restaurants - We can help recommend and make any restaurant reservations for you throughout your stay, allowing you to experience an array of Moroccan cuisine.

Tennis - In Gueliz, the new town area of Marrakech, the historic Royal Tennis Club can be found, it boasts nine clay courts of the very highest standard.

Quad Biking - Not everyone will enjoy driving while on holiday - but for the motor enthusiast Morocco has some stunning opportunities for quad biking and 4X4 driving.  Whether precarious mountain tracks are your preference or a 4X4 race across the desert dunes, there are thousands of routes that can provide a memorable challenge.

Parks and Gardens - There are many lush public and private gardens surrounding the area. The privately owned Majorelle Gardens and Museum of Islamic Art, created in the 1920s by French artists Jacques and Louis Majorelle, is one not to be missed.  These are immaculately groomed gardens which are dazzling with their cool pools, giant cacti, coconut, bamboo and banana trees.

Horse Riding - Explore Morocco on horseback, we can arrange for beginners and experts to experience a leisurely ride through beautiful scenery, arrange a lunchtime picnic under the shade of a traditional Moroccan bivouac (or tent)! Horseback riding is a very popular way to explore the Atlas Mountains, particularly in areas where a wheeled vehicle can go no further!

Oasiria Water Park - Relatively new Oasiria is Marrakech's first water park and provides fun for all the family. This aquatic adventure park caters for tiny toddlers to teenagers, with pool side restaurants, shaded grassy areas, 300m water slides, wave pools and a lazy river, along with a 300m heated pool tucked away from the rest of the park has a beautiful secluded garden with it’s own 'grown-up' restaurant and is the perfect place for any sun worshipper to relax while the kids have some fun.

Walking and Trekking - Morocco is blessed with spectacular Mountain ranges, The High, Middle and Low Atlas, Jebel Sarhro and the Rif Mountains.  The Ourika Valley, known as the 'doorway to the High Atlas Mountains', is just a short drive away.  Seeing this magnificent landscape on foot is one of the best ways to appreciate its scale and beauty. The wildlife is fascinating - butterflies, birds and tortoises - just remember to take your camera. We can suggest both full and half day tours with a driver and guide.

Skiing!! - Ouikeimden is North Africa's largest ski resort and has the continent's highest ski lift.  Ouikeimden - meaning valley of four winds - is set to become the ultimate four season mountain destination for recreation, entertainment and relaxation.  It caters for both downhill and cross-country skiers as well as snowboarders!!!

Fishing If fishing is your passion, Morocco can offer rewarding results from both fresh and salt waters. The pure mountain air, the warm, Moroccan sun and the stunning panoramas make this one of the most memorable fishing venues in the world.  There are several deep mountain lakes yielding black bass, barbell, perch and trout.  Ask us about arranging either a full or half day trip.

Sand & Sea Surfing - Surfing in Morocco can take many forms. The Atlantic Coast, just a couple hours drive away, offers challenging surf, whilst the undulating Sahara dunes present a unique surfing experience.  Water skiing and boarding can be enjoyed on several nearby lakes.
